An Exploration InwardsA yoga philosophy workshop
An Exploration Inwards: A Yoga Philosophy Workshop
Date: Saturday 26 May
Time: 1pm – 4pm
Cost: $60 (booked via the studio)
Venue: Ihana Yoga Studio, St Kilda, Melbourne
This workshop is an opportunity for those that have been practicing yoga for a little or a long while to come and deepen your knowledge about the philosophy and energetic practices. We will delve into the ‘why’ we practice certain postures and breathing techniques and how we can utilise yoga as a tool to get to know ourselves more intimately.
Emily will walk students through Patanjali’s 8 limbs of yoga and the Koshas (or energetic layers of the body), blending and combining the theory of both these frameworks to tell the story of this personal journey within that yoga offers us. The workshop will consist of both theoretical explanations (with handouts) and experiential learning through postures, group discussion, pranayama and meditation. As with the two frameworks being outlined the workshop will move from a more physical practice at the start to some longer meditations and a yoga nidra to finish.
All mats and props will be provided and we will finish with some tea and healthy snacks.
