MOUNTAIN YOGA AND WALK WEEKEND

Dates: Friday 20 – Sunday 22 March 2020

Time: Friday 3pm – Sunday 12pm

Location: Diana Alpine Lodge, 6 Falls Creek Road, Falls Creek Victoria 3699

Take the opportunity this Autumn to join Emily Rose at Diana Alpine Lodge, Falls Creek, for two days of grounding yoga, bushwalking. meditation and delicious, seasonal, earthy food.

When you are grounded it means that you are present in your body and connected with the earth. You feel centred and balanced no matter what’s going on around you! The Autumn season can bring with it a feeling of unsettledness so this is an important time to focus on grounding practices and foods. This retreat offers you some time and some tools to connect with your body and with nature in the stunning alpine setting.

Mountain Yoga and Walk Weekend, 2019

Your retreats are always a place of nourishment, refuelling the body, reminding us of what we tend to forget in everyday life, being grateful for our health and also, just being able, to be there in so many wonderful moments.

Emily is perfectly suited to her role…warm, caring and does a wonderful job with her yoga and meditation classes. The 12 or so other women were all lovely and there was a pretty instant atmosphere of mutual caring and acceptance. Just the right balance of yoga, chat time, walking or as-you-wish and all felt good. Two days of yoga, meditation, meeting new people and good, clean food leaves you feeling really great. Thank you!

ABOUT YOUR HOSTS

About Emily

Emily has been a student of many styles of yoga over the past 20 years but particularly loves to teach a strong yet slow flowing vinyasa style, that blends alignment based principles to build strength with a softer mindful, often philosophical side. Emily has over 500 hours of teacher training (including Vinyasa, Yin, Restorative, Prenatal and Kids yoga), has been teaching for 5 years, with over 1000 hours of teaching experience, and is registered Level 2 teacher with Yoga Australia.

Emily inspires people to make positive change in the world by helping them to create deeper connections with their own body-mind, each other and the earth. She invites students to utilise the rich variety of techniques that have been passed down by ancient traditions and combine this with modern scientific knowledge about the anatomy of the body and mind. Emily focuses above all on the connection between body, breath and mind and assisting students to ground themselves in their bodies, in the present moment, in order to uncover deeper layers of their being. She teaches both Yang and Yin styles of yoga and is currently undertaking further study in Mindfulness Meditation teaching. She is passionate about bringing the life-changing practices of Buddhist meditation and philosophy, and Earth mindfulness, into as many lives as possible.

Emily loves whole foods, nature, adventures in the mountains, taking action on injustice, teaching and above all connecting people in love and kindness through yoga. You can read more about Emily here.

ABOUT FALLS CREEK

Falls Creek is situated in Victoria’s North East Region, located on the stunning Bogong High Plains surrounded by the Alpine National Park.  Being in an alpine environment is breathtaking, relaxing and restorative.

Falls Creek resort is an all season destination, with a small village with only a supermarket and a handful of restaurants operating in the non-winter period. Those that visit are attracted to activities such as hiking, mountain biking, wildlife and flora viewing, road cycling and water sports on our Rocky Valley Lake.  Whilst the main attraction is the snowsports in winter, there are also activities available such as tennis, hire bikes and water craft, trout fishing, explore the historical mountain huts and museum.

Travelling from Melbourne is approximately 4.5 – 5 hours drive; from Albury it is 2 hours; and Bright is 1 ¼ hours. Please allow for extra time for travelling – the last 30 km is a gentle, windy road and you might want to make the most of the views!
