Restorative Yoga Workshop

We all know that when we look after ourselves we are better able to serve those that need us. But how often do we carve out that time for ourselves?

Do you sometimes feel like you are pulled in different directions, out of balance, stressed, exhausted and disconnected? We all so often do whether it is through juggling parenting, work, illness, study (or all of the above) and we very rarely commit to recharging our batteries.

Restorative yoga is a way of resetting the system, quieting the mind and nourishing the body.

November 2019
Date: Sunday 10 November 2019
Time: 2 – 4.30pm
Cost: $50 (Early bird $45 booked by 4 Nov 19)

Venue: Bright Boot Camp and Co, Churchill Avenue, Bright

Emily’s yoga workshop was the tonic I needed. 3 hours to myself, away from the hustle of Melbourne and responsibility of 3 kids under 2 was a necessity for me for self-care and what better way to spend it in Bright, learning about and immersing myself in restorative yoga. Thank you Emily. 🙏🏽

During the restorative workshop I felt like it was nice and relaxing and recharging, but the surprising thing to me was the lasting effect of it. I felt more happy and calm all week, I felt balanced and able to keep giving, I felt like my cup was full and overflowing, something I haven’t felt in a long long time. A split second image of a mountain from the mountain meditation gives me perspective, patience and strength in the baby and toddler madness! And I love the worksheet you sent out and the online meditations, something to keep me going until the next one! Thanks Emily!

Each pose is held for at least five minutes and props, such as bolsters and blankets, are used to support the body in the most comfortable position possible so that it can completely relax and let go. Gentle and supported twists, forward bends, backbends and inversions are practiced with modifications provided for individual needs.

This workshop will also include some kidney nourishing Yin postures and guided yoga nidra for deep relaxation. Poetry, readings and mindfulness tools will be provided for self-inquiry. The session will conclude with a sharing circle and an opportunity to connect with the group.

This practice is suitable for all levels and conditions and is particularly suitable for people with busy and stressful lives as a way of taking time to be still and rest or for people dealing with illness. The emphasis is on being rather than doing.

A special treat of bliss balls and home blended herbal tea will finish off a truly nourishing afternoon.

I will provide all mats and props but if you do have your own mat, eye pillow or bolster you would prefer to use you might like to bring it along.

After attending four of Emily’s Divine Restore workshops, I always leave feeling deeply nourished, centered and very grounded. Much Gratitude Emily. ❤

The restorative yoga was more than a yoga practice – it was a sanctuary, a mini retreat. It felt incredibly healing to be part of the small group, in a warm space nurturing the self. Emily’s supportive, cheerful, grounding way enabled me to fully immerse in the moment. Everything was wonderful, including the delicious tea at the end!
